Handling of Personal Information at TICAD8 Side Event organized by METI-AOTS

The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (hereinafter, AOTS) will conduct the proper management of personal information collected on the AOTS website in accordance with AOTS privacy policy (https://www.aots.jp/en/privacy-policy/) and strive to keep this personal information protected.

Purpose of Use

Personal information that has been provided to us will be used for the purposes listed below.

  1. To respond to inquiries, to contact for confirmation of requests
  2. To provide information on seminars, workshops, symposiums, exhibitions, events or other related services that AOTS is planning or holding, to distribute an e-newsletter
  3. To request participation in surveys
  4. For the creation of statistical data
  5. For progress reports provided to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Personal information will be properly managed and, except in the following cases, will not be provided to third parties.

  • When required by law
  • When it is necessary to protect critical interests such as the life, health and property of the individual or the public
  • When prior consent is obtained from the individual

Outsourcing of Personal Information

Personal information may be provided to third parties such as agent companies only in the scope required to achieve the purposes of use. In such cases, in addition to selecting contractors with personal information protection systems, we will conclude a confidentiality agreement with regards to the protection of personal information.

Shared Use of Personal Information

With the prior consent of the individual, personal information may be shared with a co-organizer within the scope of use. In such cases, personal information will be handled in the same manner as by AOTS.

Name, gender, nationality, place of work/company name, position, industry, email address, etc. provided when signing up for the event
